Charming portion of ancient convent

Part of an old farmhouse of great charm. It can be defined as a historic residence as it is a former Benedictine convent from the 1300s. The building is located in the locality of Belriguardo at just 1,5 km from the city, 6 km walk from the Cathedral of Siena, on the route of the Via Francigena, it was built for the nobleman's wishes Cianughi family, a branch of the Pazzi family, and is the first Charterhouse founded in Tuscany. It was abandoned by the monks in 1618 to build a larger Charterhouse. The house inside still maintains a cell of 1330 and the typical barbican wall of the buildings of the time. These characteristics make it a special property. You get to the property through a short secondary paved road of about 300 meters, here you can park a car and through an automatic gate you access the house. This is just one of the three entrances to the house, in fact there is a second entrance from the inner courtyard of the building or a third service entrance from the main paved road. The property is divided into two separate apartments. The main house measures around 150 sq.m in total and consists of a beautiful living room with a particular stone fireplace and copper cladding, kitchen with exit to the communal courtyard, a study in the ancient cell of the Benedictine monks, a bedroom with bathroom, the master bedroom and another large bathroom with marble floors. There is also a spacious storeroom. The ceilings of the living room have the beams recovered during the restoration of the property occurred in 1990, the floor throughout the house is glazed terracotta. The living room leads to the very spacious terrace measuring 90m2 with views of the countryside. The two property units are connected by a beautiful outdoor staircase covered in Tuscan golden stone. The second apartment measures 70m2 and consists of a living room with kitchenette, double bedroom, bathroom and a large storeroom. In front of the living room there is a large courtyard of 77 sq.m also of Tuscan golden stone and a garden of around 250 sq.m. This apartment has its own private entrance and lends itself well to income.
